Omni Fiber Scales Fast with Symphonica’s Agentic No-Code OSS and Cloud-Native Service Automation

Omni Fiber partnered with Symphonica, Ciena and Intraway to deploy a next-generation service orchestration and automation solution for residential service lifecycle management.

The challenge

Omni Fiber was undergoing a major operations and systems transformation to simplify internal processes and accelerate the launch of new services. The company needed to automate the provisioning and management of high-speed residential data services, ensure reliable service activation, and integrate smoothly with existing OSS and BSS platforms. The solution also had to be future-ready, with support for SDN principles and open architecture to enable rapid expansion.

The solution

Ciena, Symphonica and Intraway jointly delivered a tightly integrated solution that combines Ciena’s disaggregated, SDN-based access architecture—powered by TIBIT MCMS—with Symphonica, the leader in agentic, no-code, cloud-native orchestration. Intraway was responsible for implementing Symphonica, ensuring seamless integration with Omni Fiber’s OSS/BSS environment and service infrastructure.

The solution included:

  • Out-of-the-box workflows for core residential use cases, including service activation, bandwidth upgrades and downgrades, equipment replacement, service suspension and resumption, device reboot, and optical power level testing.
  • Northbound integration using TM Forum’s TMF641 API specification to enable smooth communication with Omni Fiber’s BSS for service order handling.
  • A multi-domain orchestration layer that abstracts the complexity of underlying network technologies, enabling centralized and standardized service delivery.
  • Real-time inventory management and catalog-driven orchestration to provide visibility and control throughout the service lifecycle.
  • A secure Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) delivery model with cloud hosting, encrypted VPN connectivity to the network, and post-deployment preventive monitoring.
  • Ciena’s disaggregated, SDN-based access infrastructure, powered by the TIBIT MCMS platform, delivering high-performance connectivity and flexible, scalable network configurations.

Intraway also contributed key value-added capabilities:

  • xPON Monitoring tools for real-time visibility into access network performance.
  • Captive Portal functionality to manage subscriber access and enforce service policies.
  • Self-Care Tools that empower end-users to manage broadband services independently.

Results

  • Accelerated time-to-revenue through automated provisioning and faster customer onboarding.
  • Improved operational efficiency with zero-touch fulfillment and standardized workflows.
  • Reduced operational costs through simplification and automation.
  • Seamless OSS/BSS integration using standards-based APIs.
  • Future-proof, scalable architecture ready to support additional services.
  • Increased network agility and performance through Ciena’s disaggregated access architecture.
  • Reduced hardware dependency and improved scalability via Ciena’s software-defined networking approach.

With Ciena’s disaggregated infrastructure and Intraway’s orchestration expertise, Omni Fiber is now positioned for continued growth, innovation, and customer satisfaction.
